Alberta Society of Artists & CARFAC present a Professional Workshop - Writing for Visual Thinkers

As part of this year's Arts Days, Visual Arts Alberta is presenting a free writing workshop: Writing for Visual Thinkers on Tuesday, September 23. Join artist and instructor Bruce Watson for an opportunity to tone up on your writing skills.

Prairie Tales 16

Prairie Tales is an annual touring collection of short films and videos made by Alberta artists. For 16 years Prairie Tales has offered a selection of some of the yearʼs best short films and videos made by Alberta media artists in a feature-length compilation. This anthology showcasing work from the shining lights of the Alberta media arts scene is distributed and screened across Alberta (and beyond).  For a list of films, click here.

Live in Lethbridge: A Community Cabaret hosted by DramaNutz

Thursday September 25, 8pm
Casa ATB Financial Community Room

Talented local performers take the stage at Casa. An evening of improv, skits, comedy, dance, musical theatre, and much more! Not your everyday variety show, but a showcase of some of the best live performers in Lethbridge. Hosted by local improv troupe Drama Nutz.  Tickets $5, available at the door.

Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra: Chamber Series I

Musaeus opens the Lethbridge Symphony season with a generous serving of paprika in a program that evokes the passion and play of Eastern European folk music. Czardas melodies fill the air, gypsy lullabies soothe the soul, and fiery country-dances ring out thanks to the inspired voices of spectacular composers inspired by this remarkable tradition.

11th Annual ArtWalk

Downtown Lethbridge
Join other Art-Walkers for this laid back, self-guided tour of art in downtown Lethbridge. Downtown businesses and galleries will open their doors to host an eclectic mix of art displays and demonstrations. There’s something for everyone! With over 40 exhibits showcasing everything from photography to textiles, painting to sculpture as well as busking musicians and street performers along the way, our downtown will be alive with art!

The Silent Treatment: A Festival of Shorts

Friday, September 26 & Saturday September 27: 8 - 10pm
Casa Digital Gallery (outdoor screen)

This festival of silent shorts asked artists to respond to Casa's large outdoor monitor, a highly visual but silent exhibition venue.  Sixteen media artists explored different approaches to video, from the narrative to the abstract.



Family Affair on the Square

Sunday September 28: 12pm-4pm
Casa Rotary Square

Gather at the Casa Rotary Square to wrap up Arts Days with live music, performance and art activities for families.

Chalk painting on the square, live music, community painting hosted by Burning Ground artists, open workshop dance with Troyanda Ukrainian Dance, Art activities led by the Lethbridge Artists Club
